RAINBOW BRIDGE
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
Spook aka Pookie
Spook lost her battle with FIP in 2007. Even though Pookie was feral, we were working on it. Pookie left 4 brothers and sisters behind in D & W's care. Pookie, Mom, Dad, Jelly, Boo, Salem, and Delilah miss you!
Angel~ 02/1994-08/08/07
Angel, you truely were my Angel Girl for 13 years. You gave me many, many, many smiles and laughs and also many tears. I know you had many struggles on this earth from starting your life at the Washington County Animal Shelter, where I adopted you, to diabetes, to losing your eye sight, to liver failure which ended your life. But mommy also knows you are in God's hands and that she will see you again. Mom, Dad, Granny, Grandpa, and Bo all miss you greatly. You were my heart and loved me until the bitter end as I did you. Always remember that mom kept her promise to you and I was there in your beginning and there in your end. I love you my girl. Love Mom, Dad, Granny, and Grandpa!
Toaster Trivette~ In Memory 10/19/07
Toaster
Toaster was in very bad shape and 14 years old when D.R.E.A.M.S AND W.I.S.H.E.S. took custody of him. But even though we tried everything we could, Toaster lost his fight October 2007. The sad part about this is that they told us at the vet "Toaster probably felt more love with you in two months than he felt in his entire 14 years" Our hearts were broken when he left us!
Toaster, we only had the pleasure of knowing you a couple of months but you touched our hearts! You were fiesty and full of love and spunk, even at your age. We miss you big guy! Mom and Dad
